Welcome to St. Martin de Porres Church
Saints Among The Saints Family of Parishes:
St. Blase, St. Ephrem, St. Martin de Porres, St. Michael

Dear St. Martin de Porres Parishioners,

While we are still grieving the loss of Father Nick, let us continue to pray for his soul. May we always strive to follow the beautiful legacy he left behind for us.

As we continue moving forward together, I wanted to reach out and share a few updates.

First, it is a pleasure to introduce Father Paul Onyebuchi. He will be helping our parish with weekend Masses until June 30th, 2027. Father Paul will reside at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, where he will celebrate weekday Masses and serve as the hospital chaplain. He is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia in
Southeast Nigeria, ordained in 2007, and he has been working in the Archdiocese of Detroit since 2019.

Until June 30th, 2027, I will be taking care of your spiritual needs as your  administrator, balancing my duties between here and St. Ephrem. Earlier this month, the St. Martin staff held a meeting where we all agreed to revive and build up St. Martin de Porres as a flourishing, lively parish during this time of transition.

The staff members are ready to make this a success, and they are very happy to invite more volunteers to join us. We welcome your help in any way you can contribute to our parish's growth—even in small ways, or simply through your presence. To support this renewal, our parish office will now be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. I will also be stopping by regularly.

Managing weekday Masses between our two communities requires a few scheduling adjustments. Please note that I have canceled Wednesday Mass at St. Ephrem, and we will now celebrate Mass every Wednesday at 9:30 am here at St. Martin. I welcome volunteers to start the Rosary and Perpetual Help devotions at 9:00 am prior to the Mass if you can.

I humbly request your prayers and understanding as we navigate these and a few other small upcoming changes. When funerals, baptisms, and weddings come in, there may need to be some flexibility, and I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Finally, please help us achieve our Catholic Services Appeal goal of $74,332. We have currently raised $39,015.00.

May God bless you. You are all in my prayers. St. Martin de Porres, pray for us.

Fr. Aro, MSFS
